What is 3DES?
Answer
Stands for Triple DES. A more secure version of the DES encryption method. In 3DES, data is encoded three times. There are different methods such as EEE3, and EDE2 which vary the number and order that keys are used to encrypt. 3DES is the current standard for VPN encryption. All Firelan firewalls support it.
